Description
Not a sample. The actual chip.
Most chiptune plugins play back recordings or a rough imitation. BRÜTT is the machine itself, rebuilt in code, decoded component by component from the sound registers to the RAM to the clock that drives them. It sounds real because it keeps the limits that made the Game Boy sound like a Game Boy: the staircase pitch sweep, the sixteen fixed volume steps, the mono channels fighting for space, the grit of the noise. Nothing rounded off, nothing smoothed.
What’s inside:
Four authentic channels: two pulse (square) voices with real duty cycles, one programmable wave channel, one noise channel, exactly the Game Boy layout.
16-step sequencer with live knob-follow, program patterns per channel right in the plugin.
8 pattern banks (A–H), save them and switch on the fly while it plays.
Stepped pitch sweep, the springy bipolar sweep that defines the sound.
16-level hardware envelope, per-channel, quantized like the real DAC.
Full MIDI in and out, play it live, map every knob, sequence it from your DAW.
